Acetabularia is an amazing algae species. Although it is composed of only a single cell, it can grow up to about 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter! The ones I made for the Water Drop Dome are 4 feet in diameter and 14 feet high. The materials are fabric, wood dowels, and wire. I am making another one now that will be over 7 feet across!
